Synopsis

Ambitious, post-Civil War costume drama spanning 36 years which intertwines several stories of lust, power, greed and murder in dealing with two former army field doctors and their passion for their work and women in their lives.

Meanwhile, Marjorie raises two boys, Jon and Harold, who have starkly different personalities.

As Jon throws himself into work, both he and Mavis engage in affairs. But the price for their secrets will result in dangerous consequences neither could have imagined.
